Candle Care Guide

✨ The Ultimate Guide to Candle Magic

To ensure your home stays filled with your favorite scents and your candles burn brightly, follow these simple steps for the perfect burn.

🕯️ The First Light is Everything

When you first light your Main Street Melts candle, let it burn until the wax melts across the entire surface to the edges of the jar.

  • Why it matters: This prevents "tunneling" (where wax builds up on the sides), ensuring you get every last drop of fragrance. This usually takes about 2–3 hours.

✂️ Keep the Wick Trimmed

Before every single light, trim your wick to 1/4 inch.

  • The Benefit: A trimmed wick keeps the flame controlled, prevents soot or "mushrooming," and helps your candle last much longer.

🕒 Don't Over-Burn

Magic shouldn't be rushed, but it shouldn't last all night! Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Safety Tip: Once the wax is down to the last 1/2 inch, it’s time to say "See ya real soon" to that jar and start a new one. Burning a candle to the very bottom can cause the glass to overheat.

🍮 Wax Melt Wizardry

For those using our Disney-inspired wax melts, here’s how to keep the scent-sational vibes going:

  • Choose Your Vessel: Only use a certified electric wax warmer or a tea light warmer specifically designed for wax melts.

  • Portion Control: We recommend starting with 1 or 2 cubes depending on the size of your room and the depth of your warmer dish.

  • Changing the Scent: Once the fragrance has faded, let the wax cool and harden. To remove it easily, pop the dish in the freezer for a few minutes or use cotton balls to soak up the melted wax while it's still warm!

⚠️ Magical Safety Rules

  • Keep a Watchful Eye: Never leave a burning candle or active wax warmer unattended.

  • Stay Clear: Keep candles away from flammable objects, drafts, pets, and "little mousketeers" (children).

  • Surface Protection: Always place your candle or warmer on a heat-resistant surface.
